Today lots of people try to be free from their works and how to be their most productive selves while maintaining their wellbeing and working from home. With hybrid work emerging as a new model for many of us, it’s especially important to get the most out of each place you work. One of the most significant changes brought upon us by the 2020 Corona pandemic was the shift to remote work. The recent Google Workspace contributes to productivity and well-being, making remote work more manageable and providing solutions to our busy schedules.
We primarily recommend Google Workspace for clients that are needing email hosting for their business. However, Google Workspace is much more than just email. It also includes a variety of apps and features that can come in quite handy. In fact, you’re probably already using or are familiar with some of them.
Gmail
Google Workspace essentially gives your employees their own Gmail accounts with email addresses that include your company’s domain name (for example, john@yourcompany.com). Free Gmail accounts and alias + forwarding rules might suffice for a very tiny business with one or two users. However, after you hire two or three employees, you’ll need accounts that can be managed independently.
Google Calendar
We at smarteworks couldn’t imagine life without Google Calendar. Many of us use it to schedule client meetings and set due dates and reminders for crucial assignments. Google Calendar can assist you in keeping track of your calendar. One of the best features of using Google Calendar with Google Workspace is the option to create multiple visible calendars for your company (or even a user subset).
Google Drive
Google Drive is a secure cloud storage service that allows you to store, access, and share your files all in one location. You may then access them from any device with ease. Every employee on the Google Workspace Basic subscription gets 30GB of storage.
Google Docs and Google Sheets
Google Docs and Google Sheets, on the other hand, speak for themselves and are products we use on a daily basis. Google Docs can also be imported into WordPress. These allow you to create and edit text and spreadsheet documents directly in your browser. Import your documents to make them instantly editable, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PDF files (.docx, .doc, .pdf, .rtf, .txt, xlsx, .csv, .html, .ods).
Additional Features
Google Chat: Google Chat is essentially the company’s new competitor. It’s a specialized group workplace with 1:1 and group chat capabilities. Interacting directly with fully integrated Google bots and 3rd party apps can make talks more efficient. With all Google Workspace options, Google chat is offered for free.
Google Meet: You can join meetings immediately from a Calendar event or an email invitation because the meet is fully integrated with Google Workspace. If you use the Enterprise edition of Google Workspace, you can also use dial-in numbers for when individuals are on the go or don’t have access to the internet.
- Using Google Meet can participate from anywhere.
Google Meet has specially designed a few new features for hybrid teams, even if it may be in a different time zone, we can collaborate wherever we are working.
- Add your location to meeting invites: When you’re responding to a meeting invite, you can let everyone know whether you’ll be attending from the meeting room in the office or if you’re joining virtually. Knowing where people are located helps presenters set up the meeting so everyone can participate equally.
Google Forms: Most of you have undoubtedly already completed a Google Form. While we prefer to collect data through other means, such as branded forms on our WordPress site, it can be a very quick and straightforward way to do so.
Google Slides: If you’re looking for a good alternative to Microsoft Powerpoint, look no further. That is exactly what Google Slides is. You may use real-time collaboration and discussion, as well as endless version history, just like with their other products.
